I don't think any of us completely understand the goings on -though that's not to say none of us ever will, because we all do and will in the end, in our own time.
So what if we got too scared, and decided to avoid the dangers? Getting involved with the wrong people is one of our biggest fears. For many of us with the will to live life to its natural end, suicide is not a option. Attacking the Applewhite Cult: It's my belief, Mr. Applewhite was wrong to will others to follow him. The fact is, he was afraid of being wrong. Afraid of going somewhere he knew nothing about. To make others follow him would lift his sense of authority, and consider himself a leader. Doings this gave him the confidence he needed to feel he was doing the right thing. But what about the others? I doubt very much they were expecting to commit suicide at the end of the day. Gaining knowledge was their ultimate goal, not committing suicide, throwing away the life they had here.
It's my belief we are here, on this Earth, for a good reason. The lessons in the civilization are immense. I for one have experienced uncertainty, insecurity, love, hatred, jealousy, fear, happiness, sadness, seriousness, and even sun-burn! All of these lessons are vital. Why? Because without them, what have we achieved? Where will we go? How could we survive? The more we fall, the firmer we stand. The more we love, the better a person we become.
So how can we know which groups to avoid?
Well, there are ufo groups which investigate the ufo phenomenon: like the well known BUFORA (British UFO Research Association). Their main aim is to gather as much information about sightings as possible. the more information they collect, the more likely their chances of understanding what its all about.
My own personal experience would suggest finding a group closer to home. Just because a ugo group might be big, it might not be the best group to go to. Smaller Groups seem to show more sincerity in their research, and like very much to rely on member's trust and honesty. This is a good sign. It shows a willingness to get on with everyone. Information is what you want, and indeed, information is what you want to share.
If you come across those groups who charge you annually to become a member, you have to tread carefully. Agreed, groups have to rely on the income from members in order to produce magazines and stuff, but make sure the people within the group are friendly, and willing to help in any way they can. If this is the case, then make the most of them. Learn, learn, learn.
The path you choose from then on is up to you. You can simply learn from the comfort of your own home, write to other people who are members too,or you can even become a fully fledged investigator.
Some people like to write to Abductees (or Selectees as I call them) or Contactees.
You're bound to get in touch with someone you don't agree with, but that's not to say you should give up. Clashes happen. Take it as experience, and learn to keep going.
Something else you might be unfortunate to encounter: Con-Artists.
I can't give you any advice on how to avoid these people, only whatever you do, where ever you go, tread carefully. You learn by your experiences, and begin to recognise what to look for.
As you progress, you get more and more into understanding why the ETs are here, and the why Paranormal goings on are occuring. It'll make more sense as you get deeper.
The choices you make are the choices you make. They are not nessecarily the wrong ones. You are understanding it all in your own way, in you your own time. People will consider you a `crazy`, or a `dreamer`, but you'll get used to it.
