This is where every UFO enthuast begins. What are those strange lights in the sky? Are they aeroplanes? Hot Air Balloons? Satellites? Or ET related craft?
It's one of the main sources of triggering off a persons interest.
It's really easy for the enthuast to get over eager and accept every strange light as being a UFO (ET related that is), but sometimes, you have to swallow your pride, and admit that many times, they could be conventional aircraft.
The basics of spotting a UFO would be by recognise the character and attitude of the light/s in question. The more erratic the movement, the less likely it being of any conventional fighter aircraft. UFOs tend to dance in the sky sometimes, as though showing off, with their abilties to whip across the sky at break-neck speeds, sometimes covering a 2 mile stretch in less than ½ a second. They have the ability to defy gravity as though it never existed, and are about to turn on the spot -much unlike fighter aircraft like the F-16, the Tornado, etc.
It's as though the UFO's don't have a front, rear and sides of their craft, because they can move in any direction they want within an instant.

Sometimes, they hover for a short period of time. It's almost like they are giving their audience just enough time to look in wonder, and then leaving to cunningly wet their appetites.
If you see one of these, it's likely you were allowed to see one. Don't think yourself clever, and think you've caught one by surprise. They know how to hide from the public, and only show up when people are meant to see them.
So why do they rarely very close?
They only come as close as you are ready. The less prepared you are, or the less optimistic you are, the more at a distance they'll be. It works the same the other way round. The more prepare you are, or the more optimistic you are, the closer they become.
