I have tried to trace our connection with the Bonds of Earth, by hunting for the records of Rewley Abbey, from which Richard Bond of Uffington bought his land, to see if the record of sale mentioned from where he came, but no records of the Abbey are known anywhere.
A "John Bond" died at Newbury in 1546. Was this Richard's son John, and/or Thomas' brother?
