I am a student studying at Stowmarket High School, England. School is very hard work, but its all for a worthwhile cause (going to Uni). My pursuits outside of school include squash, tennis, badminton, swimming, football and basket ball. I also enjoy programming (using visual basic), using the Internet and reading. My favourite authors are Greg Bear, Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, and many other Fantasy/SF authors. I also enjoy listening to music, with a very varied taste.....my favourite artists include REM, Green Day, Metallica, Black Grape, Crash Test Dummies, Queen, Blur, Oasis, Ash and Supergrass.

I am a assosciate of the redvan consortium. We (the consortium) run several bots on IRC, which help administer the channels #babylon5-uk, #redvan, and several others. For more details visit the WWW site (linked above).

On the Internet, one of my favourite past-times is IRC (Internet Relay Chat). Basically this allows people from all over the world to communicate via text. It is quite fast (better than a Internet telephone), and allows hundreds of simultaneous conversations/debates. If you want to use IRC, I reccommend MIRC, this comes with all you need to get started. Be warned IRC can be very complicated to a beginner, and it takes about 1 month to get to grips with all the commands. This doesn't stop about 30,000+ people from using IRC at any one time.
On IRC I can often be found on EUNET (irc.demon.co.uk, stork.doc.ic.ac.uk and most european servers) on the channels #babylon5-uk and #redvan, using the nickname Djjon. EUNET is one of the best IRC networks, with about 5000 users at any one time. It also is quick, as it has about 20 links in the Uk, meaning everyone gets a good fast connection, as servers are never over-loaded. Undernet only has one link in the UK.... although it has more users, resulting in the Undernet being slow at times. The trouble is your phone bills get large after using IRC a long time, and you Don't want to know about mine!
